In the tribe of Bani Israel there
lived an aged worshipper. He built his own hut on the hill and used to worship
and weep seeking forgiveness of sins. Once when he embarked on a journey, where
a young man accompanied him and he began to worship like the aged worshipper. Their
relationship deepened. The aged one asked the young on completing their journey
“since you have come to my hut, let us have dinner together and accompany me in
the night worship”.
The young man agreed and started
having dinner together. The aged one brought fresh hot bread and gave to the
young man. It had great aroma and taste. The young man exclaimed “how did you
prepare the fresh hot bread so quickly although we both were out in a journey
and just returned?” the aged laughed and told him to eat the bread first. After
a short while the aged replied that this bread is a Great Blessing from Allaah
which I have been bestowed upon since 100 yrs and 6 months. For these many
years I eat this bread to satisfy my hunger and place the remaining piece of
bread in this container without wasting even a single grain of it. In the
morning the left over piece of breas turns into fresh hot bread as it was
before. Its taste, aroma and texture never changes. It is fresh daily when I
open the container. There are thousands of blessings of Allaah in the world. And
turning a stale piece of bread into fresh one is not a big deal for Allaah. If one
does worship with praise Allaah with devotion then He grants many things like
this to His servants
The young man became jealous of
the aged man. He started becoming suspicious about the aged man and asked about
the reality and understanding of devotion to the aged. He started thinking
about the answer. The young man became impatient and told the aged to reply
immediately as the sun was about to set. The aged worshipper went out of the
hut to confirm the sun was setting. He found that the sun was still shining
bright and sunset had so much time left. The aged asserted “refraining for
lying is the first sign of Devotion”. He admonished the young man and said “you
are doubting my worship; you label yourself as a worshipper?” The young man was
left speechless and stammered “O aged worshipper don’t feel bad; where have I
lied?” The aged asked him to look where the sun is. When the young man went out
to see the sun; he admitted his mistake but he was not allowed to enter into
the hut and the aged asked him to leave immediately. He warned the young man “Liars
don’t get anything except the Wrath of Allaah”.
Allaah Ta’aala describes the fate of Liars in the Quran in Surah Mursalat 10 times – “On that Day liar will be destroyed. Surah Rahmaan has recurring verse “So which (of the) favors (of) your Allaah will you deny” 31 times. There are 10 types of punishments and 10 types of lessons for the liars. Those who denied about the Walaayat of Maulaana ‘Ali SA will be destroyed on the Day of Qeyaamah. This was the final message from Allaah upon Rasoolullaah SAWS and it is the foundation of Deen of Allaah. Allaah will punish liars in the past, present and future who lied to their Imaam and pretended to be believers.
And if they deny you then say For me are my deeds and for you are your deeds You are disassociated from what I do and I am disassociated from what you do 10:41
Moral – There are certain things in this World especially related to the Deen of Allaah for which our minds cannot find logic or our brains cannot understand. It happens with all. Whenever we come across such things, it is imperative for us to exercise patience and keep silence; and not to utter anything which would spoil the ground of Yaqeen – Conviction in our Heart.
